Meet the Team
The people behind Irwin Wills and Estate Planning: friendly, professional will writing and estate planning based in Yorkshire, serving clients across England & Wales.
Meet Niamh Irwin.
Director & Estate Planning Consultant

Niamh is a Director and Estate Planning Consultant at Irwin Wills and Estate Planning. She has worked within the estate planning industry for the past six years, helping individuals and families put the right plans in place for their future. During that time, she has written hundreds of Wills and developed extensive experience advising clients on Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Trusts.
Niamh established Irwin Wills and Estate Planning with a clear idea of how she wanted clients to feel when discussing something as important as their future. Estate planning can sometimes seem complicated, overly formal or even daunting, and Niamh wanted to create a firm where clients could have open and straightforward conversations about their wishes, understand the options available to them and feel confident in the decisions they make.
What Niamh particularly enjoys about estate planning is that no two families or estates are quite the same. She has a genuine interest in continuing to develop her knowledge within the profession and particularly enjoys finding solutions for unusual or more complex circumstances.
Her approach with clients is friendly, informal and straightforward. She takes the time to understand what is important to each person before explaining their options in clear, accessible language. Clients are encouraged to ask questions throughout the process, with the aim of ensuring they feel comfortable, informed and confident that the plans they put in place reflect their wishes.
For Niamh, one of the most rewarding aspects of estate planning is being able to take a subject that may initially feel complicated and make it much easier to understand. Whether someone is making their first Will, putting Lasting Powers of Attorney in place or considering whether a Trust may be appropriate for their circumstances, her focus is on providing practical, personal advice and giving clients peace of mind that they have taken steps to protect the people and things that matter most to them.
Outside of work, Niamh is a mum to her young son, Leonard, and enjoys spending time with her family and their dog.
Daniel Irwin
Estate Planning Consultant

Daniel is an Estate Planning Consultant and has worked in estate planning for the past ten years. He advises clients directly on Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Trusts, and has personally helped hundreds of individuals and families put the right plans in place for their future.
Over that time he has built a strong network of trusted professionals. When a matter needs specialist advice beyond estate planning, or a client needs someone when Daniel is not available, he can introduce them to the right person. Irwin Wills works alongside financial advisers, chartered tax advisers, accountants, solicitors and regulated probate specialists, so clients always have access to the right expertise.

A family business.

Irwin Wills and Estate Planning is a family business. Niamh and Daniel are husband and wife, and they built it around one simple idea: the care you would want for your own family is the care every client deserves.
When you plan with us, you are trusting your family’s future to ours, and that is a responsibility we take to heart.
Three principles we work to.
People first
Every family is different. We listen before we advise, and we never sell you documents you don't need.
Clear, fixed pricing
You'll always know the full cost before any work begins.
On your terms
In person across Yorkshire, or online anywhere in England & Wales, daytime, evening or weekend.
Qualified and accountable.
We hold full professional indemnity insurance and follow a strict, plain-English code of conduct. We are committed to the highest professional standards and keep our knowledge current through ongoing training.
Clear about what we do.
Will writing is not a reserved legal activity and is not regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. We are an estate planning firm, not a firm of solicitors. Where a matter falls outside our expertise or requires regulated legal or financial advice, we will always tell you and can refer you to an appropriate professional.
